Scenes like this are one of the many reasons I love living in the Lowcountry.

This was taken on a back road on the way to Greenville... we never did make it to Greenville.  :-)

LIGHTHOUSE

LIGHTHOUSE
This is a picture inside the Hunting Island Lighthouse.  I found that I am really drawn to patterns.  This was right up my alley.

I DO

I DO
This was from a wedding I did a few years back.  Just thought this came out real nice, soft and romantic and was very representative of all weddings.

Because of this picture, my daughter used to call him our little underwear  model. :-)

WILDFLOWERS

WILDFLOWERS
I enjoy taking day trips... just pick a direction and take the back roads to nowhere in particular.  This was taken on one of those trips.

MELINDA

This is one of my favorite portraits I have captured of my favorite subject, my daughter, Melinda.  I love this picture, not only for the quality of the picture itself, but also because I feel it really captured "her".  It is just Melinda.... no poses, no makeup... just really captured who she was.

FOLLY BEACH PIER

My name is Shanon M. McAlister.  I live and grew up in Charleston, South Carolina.  I have created this blog to share my photography images.  My interest in photography started back in high school.  When it comes to photography, various subjects catch my eye - everything from people, landscapes to the smallest detail on a flower.  I not only enjoy taking photographs but also spend hours in front of my computer adding several different kinds of effects to my images.  This makes a lot of my photography not very traditional.  I am always looking for new ways to see a subject and a different way to improve in my skills and images.

I have chosen the above picture to begin this blog.  It is simply the Folly Beach Pier.

I hope you enjoy my photography as much as I do.  Stay tuned... there is plenty more to come.

Sincerely,
Shanon
